Day 1 - COLOMBO
Arrive at the Bandaranaike International Airport and meet your transport to Galle Face Hotel, Colombo. Galle Face Hotel is a grand testimony to both Sri Lanka's colonial past and its independent present located on the ocean. After check-in and lunch there is a Colombo half-day city bus tour that will take you around the city. Stops include the Gangarama Temple, Independence Square, Viharamahadevi Park and a visit to the famous Barefoot Gallery for Tea/ Coffee and shopping. Dinner will be enjoyed at the hotel with a special guest lecturer to welcome you to Sri Lanka.
Day 2 - COLOMBO/ KANDY
Enjoy an overnight trip to Kandy; the spiritual capital of Sri Lanka. The journey begins with a helicopter ride, followed by a bus excursion to the Temple of the Tooth, located in the gorgeous Royal Palace complex of the former kingdom of Kandy. Lunch will be hosted at the Royal Bar, followed by a visit to a family of artists at their atalié. Unwind, connect, talk art, and enjoy the view from the studio veranda before retreating to the eco-boutique hotel at Ulagalla Resort. The evening offers a "Dinner of Dreams" with dancers and drummers, and soft jazz poolside.
Day 3 - ANURADHAPURA
Wake up with the dawn chorus and take a pre-breakfast guided walk round the estate and beyond. This leisurely 90-minute ramble includes ample birdwatching and a walk along the banks of Wannemaduwa; a traditional irrigation reservoir designed two thousand years ago. Enjoy breakfast on the paddy field before choosing a morning of spa-treatments, archery, or a tour of Ulagalla on horseback. After lunch we visit the city of Anuradhapura, one of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka.
Day 4 - ANURADHAPURA
Choose between two day-trip offerings; either visit the Visit to Sigiriya Lion's rock Fortress, an impressive and awe-inspiring UNESCO World Heritage Site, followed by lunch at the Elephant Corridor Hotel; or a visit to Polonnaruwa and its many beautiful ancient sites, including the Vatadage, followed by lunch at the Lake House.
