Depart the pier for a scenic drive along Bari's seafront and modern district to the old town centre. En route, a photo stop is made at the Swabian Castle.
Originally built by Frederick II upon earlier Norman fortifications, the Swabian Castle's present appearance is the result of modifications carried out by the Aragonese family in the 1500s, when the castle became the residence of Isabel of Aragon. Upon arrival in Bari's city centre, commence your walking tour of the Old Town to explore the historic sites and gain an insight into the local lifestyle. Your guide will lead you through the city and point out the main highlights of the city such as: the Cathedral of Saint Sabino, this Apulian-Romanesque style cathedral was built in the second half of the 12th century and the Basilica of Saint Nicholas, the symbol of Bari, the basilica houses the mortal remains of Saint Nicholas. Exploring the Old Town's narrow cobbled streets and squares, impressive façades of Medieval buildings and ancient walls you will also get to know the local "focaccia", the "panzerotto" and the "sgagliozze". In fact Bari offers some of the best street food in the world and your guide will show you the local life style and food traditions. This tour includes few stops to taste local flavours: a panificio (bakery) for a "focaccia", a pizzeria for a "panzerotto" and pastry shop for a "cremoso". At the conclusion of your visit, return to the pier will be via shuttle.

Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of walking over sometimes cobblestones, and a Trekking walk of approximately 3km in the nature over mixed terrain and inclines. Some steps to be considered in the venues in addition to entering and leaving the coach. Guests will also have to stand for some periods of time. The tour is not wheelchair accessible and not suitable for guests with limited mobility. Children are not suggested to participate unless good walkers. Wearing comfortable seasonal clothes, hat, sunscreen sunglasses and comfortable flat trekking shoes is highly recommended.
