Learn the history, people and small island culture of Bequia via a scenic tour with an open back jeep.
Fort Hamilton
Leaving Port Elizabeth you are taken to the northern point of Admiralty Bay, beyond Hamilton village. The original structure is long gone, but both French and English cannons retrieved from the waters around Bequia have been placed there; the view alone is worth the visit to Fort Hamilton.
Boat-Building museum
Then it is off to visit the boat-building museum where you will learn the history behind what was once the main industry in Bequia and take a look or purchase model boats replicas of the type that are built in Bequia.
Firefly Plantation
Next you will visit Firefly Plantation which is built on the foundations of an 18th century estate homestead, the Plantation is set on 30 acres of land with hillsides of wild cinnamon and orchards producing oranges, grapefruit, bananas, breadfruit, guava,
Bequia plums, sour cherries, mangoes and a variety of exotic crops. Sip on a local drink while you are guided thru the plantation. Next just a walk below visit the Grenadine Sea Salt Factory and Gift shop where you will be guided through the steps of how this quality salt is produced. Time to go back to the ship.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking and riding over bumpy and uneven surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the safari-style, open-air jeep. This tour is not suitable for guests with back and/or neck problems, guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair.
