Take half a day to discover the elegant port city of Bordeaux with a visit to a wine museum and unique covered food market. Bordeaux is the breathtaking capital of the wine world and is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and also a "City of Art and History." Although Bordeaux is full of history and tradition, this tour is the chance to visit two new gems in the city, a museum dedicated to wine, and a fantastic covered outdoor market.


Bordeaux is known for its Gothic Cathedral Saint Andre, as well as its many fine and contemporary art museums and 18th and 19th century mansions. Public gardens line the curving river quays and the grand Place de la Bourse opens to the water with the Three Graces fountain at its center. Experience much of this rich culture and architecture on this tour that begins with a visit to a permanent exhibition at the newly built La Cité du Vin Wine Museum, where you can embark on an immersive, sensory adventure to discover the cultures and civilizations of wine.


Then make the short walk with your guide to the newly opened covered food market, facing the Cité du vin: Les Halles de Bacalan. There you get to meet the local vendors and enjoy a tasting of local products, including meats, oysters, cheeses, chocolates, bread, wine, cider and more!
