Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Celebrate France’s Bastille Day, from Saint-Malo to the City of Light
Your adventure begins in the charming coastal town of Saint-Malo, setting off on a scenic drive through the lush Normandy countryside toward Bayeux. Pausing for an exquisite lunch at the historic Château de Sully, you’ll continue to Paris — “the City of Light” — staying at the Pullman Tour Eiffel Hotel with panoramic views of the iconic tower. In the evening, you’ll dine high up on the Eiffel Tower at a Michelin two-star restaurant with Paris sparkling beneath you.
On July 14th, it’s time to celebrate Bastille Day with front-row seats for the military parade along the Champs-Élysées, followed by aerial acrobatics. You’ll then be free to explore the avenue’s famous cafés and boutiques, before delving into France’s revolutionary past with a guided visit to La Conciergerie — once a royal palace, later a prison to Marie Antoinette. As twilight descends your private dinner cruise on the Seine awaits, drifting past illuminated landmarks and stopping to watch the fireworks glitter above the Eiffel Tower.
Your final morning in Paris starts with a visit to Notre-Dame de Paris. Recently restored, the cathedral stands as a symbol of resilience and beauty. Depending on the restoration progress, you might step inside or admire the façade while learning of its storied past. Finally, you’ll be driven to Rouen, the historic capital of Normandy, where your next chapter begins.
