Excursion Nature walk at diosso gorge (moderate) tour at Pointe Noire

Travel by bus to a scenic viewpoint overlooking the remarkable Diosso Gorge, a dramatic natural canyon carved through red volcanic rock, renowned for its breathtaking formations and vibrant landscapes. From the viewpoint, enjoy panoramic views of the gorge’s impressive cliffs and lush surroundings. Continue your journey to the nearby beach area, where you’ll embark on a guided 4 km (2.5 miles) walk roundtrip walk along flat, sandy terrain, offering opportunities to appreciate the natural beauty and serenity of the coastal environment. The tour concludes with leisure time at the beach, where you can relax and enjoy a refreshing swim before returning to Pointe Noire.

Please note: Republic of Congo is a very-low-income country with very basic infrastructure, and vastly different to the western culture mentality. Local conditions may be challenging; therefore, we urge flexibility and understanding as we visit unique and somewhat remote destinations. Coaches, guides, equipment, and services are the best-available in the area, but may not be up to the standards of those found on other excursions. Transfer time each direction is approx. 60 minutes. This tour requires moderate physical activity and is suitable for those with basic fitness level, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and at the Diosso Gorge. The walk is approx. 4 km (2.5 miles) and involves uneven terrain, with a mix of dirt trails and slight inclines.  Lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, sun protection and insect repellant is recommended. Anticipate high temperatures and humidity and we recommend staying hydrated by bringing your water bottle. If you are interested in swimming, we recommend wearing a swimsuit underneath your clothing, as there are no changing facilities at the beach. Additionally, please bring a towel from the ship for your use. Guests are informed that tips to local guides and drivers are at the guest’s discretion.
