Disembark onto a remote island, where a wilderness skills instructor leads you through and old-growth forest to begin a course in basic survival skills is insprired by the region's Native culture. Build a strong foundation using the fundamentals of wilderness survival in a relaxed and engaging atmostphere. Take home skills such as how to build a shelter, how to identify wild edibles, how to gather tinder and make a fire. The food you prepare emulates the wild harvest.
As you eat by the campfire, your knowledgeable guide will regale you with Alaskan legends and lore. Please note: This excursion is not suitable for guests with limited mobility due to the variable tide ramps and uneven terrain involved. Participation in this tour required 300 yards each way walking to and from the embarkation point and the ability to transition on dock ramps and stairs without assistance. Guests will need to be able to walk a quarter mile over uneven terrain on the island. Warm Layered clothing and sturdy footwear are recommended. This tour is not for guests prone to seasickness, guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Although frequently encountered on this type of tour, wildlife sightings are not guaranteed. Operation of this tour is subject to weather conditions. Space on this tour is very limited; we suggest you book in advance to avoid disappointment.
