Dive into the story of the Australian Pearl with this half-day tour and learn about our pearl culturing techniques and the seven virtues of pearls.
Broken Bay Farm Experience
Depart the pier for approximately 1-hour drive to the Broken Bay Farm. Upon arrival, board an oyster punt on the Hawkesbury River where an experienced skipper will immerse you in the story of the locally grown pearls. Explore the incredible marine wilderness of the Central Coast where iconic pelicans and abundant fish are a living display of our thriving marine ecosystem - home to world-class pearls. Meet the pearling team who reveal the intricacies of pearl farming. Watch for turtles and stingrays around the famous Rock Oyster farms, the area's original industry and secret behind Broken Bay Pearls' success which began in 2003. Once back on land, the oyster experts invite you to join them inside their restricted-access Pearl Room for a hands-on session with pearl harvest where you will witness how pearls are graded and learn the seven virtues that underpin the value of farm-direct Pearls of Australia.
Once you've become a pearl grading expert, enjoy a tasting of freshly shucked oysters and a glass of sparkling wine by the bay, as the tranquil sounds of the surrounding bushland fill the air. Take some time to browse the on-site pearl shop for unique pieces of Australian-made jewelry before re-boarding your coach and returning to your awaiting ship.
