Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 30-minute drive to the outskirts of Tunis for a visit to Carthage, one of the great cities of the ancient world and an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Within these extensive remains, see the Amphitheatre, Punic Ports, Byrsa Hill, and visit the Carthaginian Sanctuary of Tophet, an ancient burial ground believed to have been used for ritual sacrifices.

Antonine Baths, Roman Cisterns, High Cliff, Gulf of Tunis, Sidi Bou Said

Next, proceed for a guided tour inside the 2nd-century Antonine Baths, another UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest ancient bath complexes ever built. From here, re-board your coach and transfer to the nearby Roman cisterns, some of the world's best-preserved Roman cisterns and among the most visible features of the archaeological site of Carthage. After a photo stop here, re-board your coach and take a coastal drive en route to the lovely village of Sidi Bou Said, perched high on a hill overlooking the Gulf of Tunis.

Sidi Bou Said is home to a maze of cobbled streets with old stone steps that make it a delightful place to take a guided stroll. Pass by gleaming, white-washed walls and buildings with blue-coloured rooves and ornate, curved window grills, a local trademark. In addition, see colourful arched doorways that open onto small courtyards filled with geraniums and bougainvillea. Following your walking tour, some free time is made available to browse the local handicrafts or relax at one of the local tea houses with a cup of refreshing mint tea at your own expense. Your tour concludes with a short drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of walking for approximately 1.5 km, at times over uneven, cobblestone, and natural surfaces and steep inclines, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and in Sidi Bou Said, and 12 steps at the Antonine Baths. Walking at Sidi Bou Said is at the discretion of each guest. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection, insect repellent, bottled water, and Euros, Dinars, or credit cards for purchases from the ship. Guests must be at least three years old to participate on this tour; minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18 to participate on this tour.
