Excursion Cíes islands discovery tour at Vigo
Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
The Cíes Islands are Vigo estuary's greatest treasure, a true natural paradise of exceptional ecological interest.
Sail for approximately an hour onboard a private catamaran and reach the Cíes Islands. Once well known as a hideout for pirates, this archipelago, made up of three islands, is now part of the Atlantic Islands National Park, a beach paradise with crystalline waters, in a natural environment that makes it a unique wildlife observatory, home to over 15,000 nesting seabirds, most of them Yellow-legged Gulls.
You can either explore the island on your own or take part in one of the different level guided hikes available.
Apart from the seabirds you may see robins, blackbirds, dunnocks, and coal tits, while woodpeckers are usually only heard. The water here is exceptionally clear and the islands are a favorite place with the locals - the beach next to our landing site was voted one of the best beaches in Spain.
At the end of your visit, board the catamaran and cruise back to Vigo.
