At the pier, board your vehicle for a short drive that will take you to the breathtaking Tongass National Forest. Here, within the largest U.S. national forest, immerse yourself in Mother Nature’s handiwork as you hike approximately two miles (round trip) on a path winding through towering old-growth timber. This flat, gravel trail (with just one slightly elevated area) is accessible for everyone. Along the way, your knowledgeable guide will point out the majestic giant cedar, hemlock, and spruce trees, enriching your experience with insights into the local ecosystem. At the trail's end, reboard your vehicle for the drive to a local pub, where you’ll enjoy refreshments, including a flight of Alaskan beers or glass of wine, in a cozy atmosphere with a view of the harbor. Your memorable hiking experience concludes with a drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of walking (approximately two miles) over mostly flat terrain that includes gravel. It is not suitable for guests who utilize a wheelchair. Participants must be in good health and able to independently navigate terrain over two miles. Guests should wear sturdy, nonskid walking shoes and dress in warm layers; the outer layer should be windproof and waterproof. Guests must be a minimum of 21 years old to consume alcoholic beverages.
