Rosyth, Edinburgh's Old Town, Castle, Holyrood Palace, Royal Mile, Walking Tour

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately one-hour drive into the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town. The Royal Mile is actually approximately 1.1 miles (about 1.77 kilometres) in length. It is comprised of five streets linking the Castle at the top to Holyrood Palace at the bottom; Castlehill, Lawnmarket, High Street, Cannongate and Abbey Strand. Timber buildings were built and named after the landowners, and this tradition can still be seen to this day. The gaps between the buildings are known as 'closes'. Upon arrival, take a guided walking tour along the cobblestone streets of the Royal Mile.

John Knox House, Canongate Church, Scottish Parliament Building, St. Giles Cathedral

Along the way, pass by various buildings both old-and-new, including the John Knox House, Church of Canongate and Scottish Parliament Building. During your guided stroll, a visit is made to the St. Giles Cathedral. This majestic building stands midway along the Royal Mile. The most notable external feature is the famed crown spire on the tower. Following a restoration programme which began in 1977, essential roof repairs were carried out and a magnificent new organ was installed. At the conclusion of the tour, re-board your coach and commence the approximately one-hour drive back to the pier.
