Excursion Exclusive whale watching experience (for in-transit guests only) tour at Papeete

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

Board a small private boat and look for the humpback whales that come to take refuge in our warm waters and whose observation is ideal between August and November. Accompanied by marine biologists or underwater wildlife specialists, discover these impressive mammals in their natural environment.

Your experience starts with a briefing on board about the safety rules for swimming and watching cetaceans. You will also learn about the characteristics of humpback whales and their behavior. You will then go look for the whales, which can be easily spotted thanks to the hydrophone available on board and the expertise of your guides.

Swimming with the whales depends on the sea conditions and the behavior of the cetaceans, it is not guaranteed.

Please note: This tour is available to in-transit guests continuing on to the following cruise. This water activity requires all participants to know how to swim perfectly, to be comfortable in the water and able to cope with occasional currents. We recommend guests to wear a swimsuit under a cover-up and bring a hat, sunscreen, towel, bottle of water, reef shoes and rashguard. Snorkeling equipment is provided. Space on this tour is very limited; we suggest you book in advance to avoid disappointment.
