Scenic Train Ride

Depart the pier for a short 984-foot (about 300-metre) walk to the Flåm Railway Station. The Flåm Railroad measures 12.4 miles (20 kilometres) in length, and ascends to the 2,844 foot-high (867-metre-high) Myrdal Station. After boarding the train, take a one-hour ride along the Flåm River. See the Rjoande Waterfall, which cascades down 459 feet (140 metres), and the impressive peak of Vidmesnosi, which rises to a height of 4,163 feet (1,269 metres).

Naali Tunnel & Myrdalsberg

Next, pass through the longest tunnel at Naali, then the climb of 984-foot-high (300 metre-high) Myrdalsberg. In order to ascend it, the line is built on four levels. From here, you can view three of them, with the train standing on the fourth. Enjoy the sights of the old road constructed in 1895-96 in connection with the building of the Bergen Oslo Railroad that opened in 1909. The road ascends the steep hills in 21 narrow hairpin bends with a lovely waterfall adjacent to it.

Kjosfossen Waterfall

A brief photo stop is made at the 305-foot-high (93-metre-high) Kjosfossen Waterfall. En route, the train slows down at the most scenic viewpoints.

Downhill Bike Ride

Continue to Myrdal and then back down to the Berekvam station, where you will leave the train and pick up your bike. Begin a wonderful downhill bike ride to Flåm, following a narrow gravel road along the river with spectacular views of the waterfalls, mountains and valley. If you like, you can even fill up your water bottle from the river and streams along the way.

The tour concludes at the pier.
