Excursion Flåm railway & hike tour at Flam

Combine the scenic beauty of the Flåm Railroad with a wonderful hike in the nature.
Scenic Train Ride
Depart the pier for a short 984-foot (about 300-metre) walk to the Flåm Railway Station. The Flåm Railroad measures 12.4 miles (20 kilometres) in length, and ascends to the 2,844 foot-high (867-metre-high) Myrdal Station. After boarding the train, take a one-hour ride along the Flåm River. See the Rjoande Waterfall, which cascades down 459 feet (140 metres), and the impressive peak of Vidmesnosi, which rises to a height of 4,163 feet (1,269 metres).
Naali Tunnel & Myrdalsberg
Next, pass through the longest tunnel at Naali, then the climb of 984-foot-high (300 metre-high) Myrdalsberg. In order to ascend it, the line is built on four levels. From here, you can view three of them, with the train standing on the fourth. Enjoy the sights of the old road constructed in 1895-96 in connection with the building of the Bergen Oslo Railroad that opened in 1909. The road ascends the steep hills in 21 narrow hairpin bends with a lovely waterfall adjacent to it.
Kjosfossen Waterfall
A brief photo stop is made at the 305-foot-high (93-metre-high) Kjosfossen Waterfall. En route, the train slows down at the most scenic viewpoints.
Nature Hiking Trail
Upon arrival at Vatnahalsen Railway Station (Aurland Valley), disembark the train and walk to Kårdalen close to the Rallarrosa Cheese Farm, in the upper part of the Flåm valley.
From Kårdalen start hiking to Berekvam (approximately 7.5 km). Hiking this route will give you a close-up experience of some of the beautiful scenary Fjord Norway has to offer. Once arrived in Berekvam you will take the train back to the port in Flåm.

This tour involves an extensive amount of physical activity and is only suitable to guests in excellent physical conditions. This tour is not recommended for mobility challenged guests or guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear comfortable layered clothing, a waterproof jacket and hiking boots. Minimum age to participate is 12 years old.
