Scenic Train Ride
Depart the pier for the short walk to the Flåm Railway Station. The Flåm Railroad route is approximately 12.4 miles (about 20 kilometres) in length, and ascends to the 2,844 foot-high (867-metre-high) Myrdal Station. During your approximately one-hour journey, take in breath-taking vistas as you ride steep, winding roads around massive mountains, through tunnels with a total distance of approximately four miles (about 6.5-kilometres), on the edge of precipices, and past gushing rivers and waterfalls.
Bergen Railway, Voss, Lunch and Tvindefossen Waterfall
Upon arrival at Myrdal Station, embark on one of the world's most unique and spectacular journeys aboard the Bergen Railway, which connects Bergen with the capital, Oslo. Marvel at the magnificent panoramic vistas during the approximately one-hour ride to Voss. Upon arrival, proceed for a Norwegian buffet lunch to Fleischers' Hotel or the Park Hotel. After lunch, some free time is made available to explore Voss City at your leisure before boarding a coach for the drive to the Tvindefossen Waterfall. A brief photo stop is made here to marvel at this stunning natural wonder, which cascades down the mountainside.
Stalheim Road and Gudvangen
Next, re-board your coach and drive down the famous Stalheimskleivene. Norway's steepest road, it includes 13 hairpin bends and offers outstanding views of the waterfalls that plunge down both sides of the road. Upon reaching the valley floor, follow the Nærøy River back towards Gudvangen. A photo stop is made here before re-boarding your coach and commencing the short drive back to the pier.
