Excursion Fynoderee distillery & victorian railway tour at Douglas
Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
The Isle of Man is part of a Biosphere and was admitted to UNESCO reserves in 2016 as a result of the wildlife and botanicals that inhabit the island. The abundance of unique and beautiful botanicals is contributory to what makes Fynoderee Distillery truly something special.
The name Fynoderee is based on a tale of folk law of a prince of the fairy folk who fell in love with a beautiful mortal woman which was forbidden. Causing him to turn into Fynoderee, half man, half Billy goat, it is said that Fynoderee is responsible for creating some of the unique flora found on the island.
Today, Fynoderee Gin, Vodka, and rum is made from botanicals foraged on the island and distilled to create delicious seasonal spirits.
On arrival at Fynoderee enjoy a tour of the distillery as you journey through the distilling process.
A visit wouldn't be complete without sampling the produce, enjoy a tasting of 5 different gins, vodkas, and rums and perhaps purchase a bottle or two to take home.
Following your visit, step on board the Manx Electric Railway. The longest of any of Britain's vintage narrow-gauge lines.
Board your carriage and travel through leafy glens and hollows before emerging atop precipitous cliffs offering splendid views across the coastline. Enjoy the breathtaking views on your return journey to Douglas.
