Excursion Geiranger to helleyslt overland tour at Geiranger

Experience the magnificent natural splendour of Norway during this panoramic, full-day sightseeing excursion.

Flydal Viewpoint, Flydalsjuvet Gorge, Mt. Dalsnibba, Snow-Capped Mountains, Glaciers and Lakes

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately one-hour drive to the Flydal Viewpoint, which overlooks the magnificent Flydalsjuvet Gorge. After a photo stop here, re-board your coach and continue up towards the 4,921-foot-high (about 1,500-metre-high) summit of Mt. Dalsnibba. Upon arrival and weather-permitting, take in spectacular panoramic views of snow-covered mountains, glaciers and lakes, as well as Geiranger.

Buldre-Fossen Waterfall, Stryn Lake and River, Lunch, Lake Hornindal

Next, re-board your coach and continue through Fjellheimen, then pass by Grotli, a well-known junction between western and eastern Norway. From here, pass the splendid Buldre-Fossen Waterfall, then descend down the 19 hairpin bends to the valley floor. Drive past the beautiful Stryn Lake and Stryn River, along the way a stop will be made for lunch. After lunch, re-board your coach and commence the approximately two hour drive back to the ship in Helleyslt Village. En route, pass by Lake Hornindal, the deepest lake in Northern Europe.

Note

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking for approximately 547 yards (about 500 metres), at times over uneven surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and 21 steps at the restaurant (an elevator is available). Walking at the Dalsnibba Viewpoint is at the discretion of each guest. This tour is not suitable for guests with a fear of heights, guests prone to motion sickness, guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear warm, comfortable clothing in layers with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection and a weatherproof jacket. Depending on snow conditions, there may or may not be skiers at the summer-ski school at the Tystigen Glacier, or the school may be closed. The total driving distance from the pier to the sites visited is approximately three hours. The tour sequence may vary.
