Red Tsingy and Canyons

The hike starts with a tour through the canyons, where towering red spires and unique sandy structures stretch toward the sky. As you descend near the river, you discover the heart of the Tsingy Rouge—an otherworldly landscape shaped by strong winds and red sand. The surreal, almost "lunar" feel of this place has earned it UNESCO World Heritage status, and it's easy to see why. Capture these magnificent rock formations with your camera; these natural sculptures offer a one-of-a-kind backdrop that is both awe-inspiring and photogenic.

Snack Break with Local Flavors

After immersing yourself in the mesmerizing scenery, you relax and recharge with a hearty snack made from local ingredients. This break provides an opportunity to savor Madagascar’s flavors while reflecting on the morning’s discoveries and enjoying the surrounding beauty of the Tsingy Rouge.

Returning Through Baobab Country

As you head back toward the city, you encounter another of Madagascar’s iconic landscapes: the majestic baobab trees. Along the way, we make photo stops to capture these ancient giants, adding more memorable shots to your collection. You also travel through a patchwork of diverse landscapes, gaining a window into northern Madagascar’s traditional lifestyle and natural scenery before concluding our journey back at the port.

This tour involves an extensive amount of walking for approximately 1.2 miles (about 1.5 kilometre), at times over uneven and natural surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach. This tour is not suitable for pregnant guests, guests with back and/or neck problems, guests with heart and/or respiratory conditions, guests prone to motion sickness, guests with a fear of heights, guests with limited mobility, and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection, bottled water, and Euros, US Dollars, or local currency in smaller denominations for purchases from the ship; credit cards are not accepted at the shopping venue.
