Depart the pier with your guide for a scenic hiking trek. We start our journey walking towards the small, but charming, Skrúðgarður Botanical Garden. Following a guided stroll through this lovely little botanical garden, your journey continues along an uphill footpath towards Lake Botnsvatn. Following this trail, walk alongside the Búðará River that flows from the lake, down towards the botanical garden, through town, and into the Atlantic Ocean at Skjálfandi Bay. Deep-set beneath the colourful slopes of Mt. Húsavík, the remote Lake Botnsvatn is a particularly serene and beautiful place to visit.

This oligotrophic lake is situated approximately 426 feet (about 130 metres) above sea level, and a very popular site for locals who love the outdoors. Upon arrival, a stop is made here to sit back, relax, and enjoy the stunning natural splendour of this lovely lake. Leaving Lake Botnsvatn, hike back into Húsavík along a different trail. Whilst walking downhill, embrace the breath-taking panorama of your beautiful surrounds. Your guided hiking trek concludes back at the pier.
