Discover the splendid beauty, history, and flavours of northern Dalmatia during this picturesque, half-day sightseeing excursion.

Zadar, Scenic Drive, Adriatic Coast, Vrana Lake

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately one-hour drive along the Adriatic coast towards northern Dalmatia and come across a unique natural phenomenon; two equally beautiful, yet, so very different, shades of blue. On one side, see the well-indented Adriatic coast, famous for its alluring beauty and crystal-clear sea. On the other side is beautiful Vrana Lake, the largest natural lake in Croatia. Upon arrival at Vrana Lake, visit two beautiful venues.

Karaba Winery, View of Vrana Lake & Surrounds, Winery Tour, Tasting & Turkish Specialities

Your first stop is at the Karaba Winery, which boasts a magnificent view over Vrana Lake and the surrounding areas. Upon arrival, take a guided walking tour of the winery and cellar, then proceed for a wine tasting accompanied by assorted Turkish specialities. One of the wines produced here, Templar, is named after the Templars who walked this part of Europe and arrived at Vrana Lake in the 12th century. Leaving the Karaba Winery, re-board your coach and continue on to Maskovica Han, the western-most Ottoman monument in Europe.

Maskovica Han, Rectangular Building Complex, Courtyard, Turkish Coffee & Treats

The Maskovica Han was a caravanserai, a resting place for individuals traveling in caravans, serving as a hostel and residence in the 17th century. A local boy, Jusuf Maskovic, rose to the position of Admiral, Commander of the Turkish empire fleet. In his birthplace, Maskovic built a han. Upon arrival, take a guided walking tour to experience this unique Ottoman monument in Croatia. The Maskovic Han consists of a rectangular complex of buildings surrounding a courtyard, and is considered an important monument of Turkish secular architecture. Following your tour, proceed for a Turkish coffee served with sweet Turkish treats. Afterward, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 45-minute drive back to the pier.
