Excursion Ålesund via ferrata tour at Alesund

Experience Ålesund from a unique perspective during this thrilling Via Ferrata route, climbing up to Mount Aksla. Your extremely active adventure features a guided hike along a metal rail route created over cliffs and ledges otherwise impossible to reach.

Walk to the Via Ferrata Starting Point

On the pier meet your experienced rock climbing guide, who will lead you on a wlaking tour through the city centre, to reach the starting point of your Via Ferrata.

Safety Briefing & Via Ferrata Climb

At the starting point you will be briefed and provided with your climbing gears (helmet, gloves, safety harness with two carabineers). You will then begin your guided approximately 100 metre high route along the mountain ledges. The spectacular route involves exposed climbing on a large granite wall. Half way, there is a spacious bench perfect for a break. Enjoy the view and take a photo of the city below you and the North Sea. Your guide will ensure safe climbing and interesting facts about Ålesund and surrounding nature will be given.

Once on the top on Mount Aksla, you will follow the beautiful city stairs back down to the park and the ship.

Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of physical activity and is only suitable for guests in extremely good physical conditions. Guests are advised to wear comfortable clothing in layers with hiking boots. No prior rock climbing experience is required to take part in the tour. Keep your personal belongings at a minimum, since you will not be allowed to carry bags or backpacks during the Via Ferrata climb. You will be able to leave your belongings at the bottom of the Via Ferrata.
