Lima City Tour

Depart the pier for the approximate 40-minute drive into downtown Lima, the 'City of the Kings'. Upon arrival, visit historic Plaza Mayor, home of the Government Palace, City Hall, Cathedral and the Archbishop's Palace.

San Francisco Monastery

Next, take a guided stroll to the San Francisco Monastery, a wonderful example of Colonial architecture.

Cathedral

The Basilica Cathedral of Lima is a Roman Catholic cathedral located in the Plaza Mayor of downtown Lima, Peru. Construction began in 1535, and the building has undergone many reconstructions and transformation since, however it still retains its colonial structure and facade.

Casa Aliaga

Your next stop is the best-preserved Colonial mansion in the Americas. Built on the ruins of an old temple or huaca, the Aliaga's house has been occupied by the Aliaga family since 1535, when the land was given to Jerónimo de Aliaga. It has been handed down through seventeen generations, making it the oldest single family-owned and occupied home in South America. The house is furnished in colonial style with pieces from the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries.

Miraflores District

Finally, continue driving to the modern area of Lima, the Miraflores district, for a stunning overview of the Pacific Ocean. Visit the famous Park of Love.

Following your visit, return to your coach and commence the approximately 1-hour drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking for approximately 1.5 hours, with stairs to negotiate at the entrance to the Cathedral. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility or those guests who utilise a wheelchair, there are steps encountered along the way. Guests should dress in seasonal attire; ladies should have the shoulders and knees covered for entering religious sites. Photography is not allowed inside churches in Lima. Guests must be 14 years of age or older to participate in this tour when accompanied by an adult.
