Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 35-minute drive across the island, from Santal Bay to Luecila Beach, located approximately midway on Lifou's east coast. En route, pass by colourful tropical trees, palms and traditional houses with magnificent flowering gardens, and through We (pronounced 'whey'), the administrative seat of the island. Along the way, your guide points out landmarks and answers any questions that you may have.

Luecila Beach, Coconut Drink, White-Sand Beach, Lagoon, Palms and Shade Trees

Upon arrival at Luecila Beach, enjoy a fresh coconut drink, then prepare yourself for a beach that is not fringed by resorts, shops, bars and vendor's stalls. Instead, Luecila Beach is a pristine, postcard-perfect curve of white sand that fringes a fine swimming lagoon, and is framed by palms and shade trees.

During your visit, you can soak up the tropical sun, relax in the shade of a tree, take a leisurely stroll on the white-sand beach, swim in the inviting, crystal-clear lagoon, and photograph the wonderful seascapes. At the conclusion of your tour, re-board the coach and commence the short drive to the pier. Upon arrival, locally-made handicrafts and souvenirs can be purchased at the tour dispatch location before returning to the ship.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking, at times over uneven, natural and sandy surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach. Walking at Luecila Beach is at the discretion of each guest. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Please respect the local sensitivities, and dress appropriately. Swimwear, revealing clothing, etc. is prohibited away from the beach. As a courtesy, please ask for permission before taking photographs of Melanesian people. Guests are advised to wear a swimsuit under a cover-up with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection, biodegradable sunscreen, bottled water and a towel from the ship. Coaches, guides, equipment, and services are the best-available in the area, but may not be up to the standards of those found on other excursions. The air-cooled coaches and vans are not fitted with microphones; however, your guide provides narration. The tour sequence may vary. Space on this tour is very limited; we suggest you book in advance to avoid disappointment.
