Excursion Majestic hill, mill & market outing tour at Bridgetown

Bathsheba and the Windmill
Some 45 highly scenic minutes’ travel eastward across the island brings you to the picturesque village of Bathsheba, where you’ll stop awhile to marvel at the coastline’s rugged beauty and impressive rock formations. Just up the coast is the historic Morgan Lewis Windmill, built in the 1700s to mill sugarcane and handsomely restored and working today. Enjoy a complimentary juice or soda here as you learn about this quaint throwback to the island's old ways. Continuing onward to the peak of Cherry Tree Hill, more breathtaking panoramas of the East Coast await.

Hayman’s Market
Back on your coach and heading westward, you’ll soon reach Hayman's Market, a bustling local landmark loaded with local crafts and fresh produce. With some 90 minutes to browse the diverse array of stalls here (over 50!), you’re bound to encounter handmade items and island flavours you can’t resist. And learn about Hayman’s transformation over the centuries from simple wind-driven sugar mill to modern processing plant – to the reinvented boutique marketplace it is today.  

The 45-minute return drive to port winds through Holetown, quaint home to the island’s oldest church (1628), and past the über-modern luxury villas and hotels of the Platinum Coast.

Please note: This moderate excursion involves about 600m (1950 ft) of walking over paved and unpaved surfaces, with inclines, declines, and some stairs at the venues. The tour is not suitable for guests who utilize a wheelchair or have limited mobility. Wear cool, comfortable clothing (no camouflage, please), and bring your preferred sun protection.
