East Coast and Gorey
Depart the pier for the approximately 30-minute drive to Gorey. The east coast of Jersey is a reflection of a bygone era, and serves as the backdrop to the island's most enduring myths and legends. The eastern skyline presents the dramatic sight of Mont Orgueil Castle towering over Gorey Harbour and the Royal Bay of Grouville.
Mont Orgueil Castle
On the approach to Mont Orgueil Castle, one of Jersey's most cherished monuments, notice that the outer wall follows the contours of the ground. The five towers, lower ward and middle ward all provided protection for the defenders manning the arrow slits. During your guided tour of the castle, you can negotiate the ancient passages and stairways leading to its highest point, which offers stunning panoramic views in all directions.
Following your tour of the castle enjoy a delicious Jersey cream tea before heading back to St Helier and your awaiting ship.
