After a scenic drive from the port, arrive at Paestum, a UNESCO World Heritage site founded by the Greeks in the 6th century BCE. Your guided walking tour takes you through this remarkable open-air museum, where you will encounter three stunning Doric temples, some of the best-preserved examples in the world, along with the remains of ancient city walls, homes, and streets.
Following the site visit, continue to the nearby museum, which houses extraordinary artefacts discovered during excavations, including ceramics, sculptures, and the famed Tomb of the Diver. Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of walking for approximately two miles (about 3.2 kilometres), at times over uneven, cobblestone, and natural surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and 20 steps at the sites visited. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility, and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, sturdy, and closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection, bottled water, and Euros or credit cards for purchases from the ship. Professional cameras and tripods are not permitted inside the Paestum excavations. Backpacks and large bags are not permitted inside the Paestum excavations; please leave them on the coach.
