Depart from the pier in Volos and travel by coach on a 45-minute drive to the picturesque village of Portaria on Mount Pelion. Your destination is Karaiskos Farm, a family-owned estate dedicated to sustainability and the flavors of Thessaly region. On arrival, meet the farm team for a warm welcome and introduction to the day’s fresh, seasonal produce that shape Pelion’s home cuisine.
Hands-on Cooking Lesson, Lunch
Get involved in a hands-on cooking lesson led by the farm’s chef. Prepare traditional dishes that may include hand-worked phyllo for savory pies, rustic strapatsada (eggs with tomatoes), oven-baked briam vegetables, and a seasonal salad, while learning practical techniques and regional culinary stories. After the class, sit down amidst the orchards and olive trees to enjoy the lunch you helped create, accompanied by local beverages.
Following this delicious meal, re-board the coach for the 45-minute drive back to the pier.
