This ancient city was entombed by a flood of mud, leaving the city intact and free-standing, with marble floors, mosaics, paintings and carbonised woods in excellent condition once unearthed. See the wine merchant's store with its amphorae still lined up for sale, the bakery and the town's many beautiful homes. Herculaneum provides a vivid impression of life during the 1st century.

Please note: This tour involves walking to-and-from the coach parking area to the site entrance, and two hours of an extensive amount of walking over uneven surfaces and cobblestones in Herculaneum.
