Excursion Sandbar & moriah marine park tour at Exuma
Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
A scenic 35 minute bus ride through the main thoroughfare of Great Exuma and the tiny city of Georgetown, takes you to the departure point for your fun-filled, half-day boating excursion through the protected and secluded cays and sandbars of the Moriah Marine Park, The Bahamas' newest protected sea-park.
Scenic Boat Adventure & Uninhabited Islands
Depart from the dock aboard a comfortable two-story vessel, with scenic narration from your host as you cruise through the protected waters of Moriah Marine Park, the Bahamas’ newest sea sanctuary. Your first stop is the iconic Man O’ War Sandbar—a vast stretch of white sand in the middle of turquoise waters. Walk hand-in-hand in ankle-deep water, swim, or hunt for sanddollars and tiny starfish. The vessel is shaded with onboard restrooms and a variety of beverages available, including complimentary drinks and snacks.
The Lazy River & Crystal Clear Waters
Next, enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the narrow cut between Great and Little Exuma, known as “The Lazy River.” Float effortlessly on pool noodles with the gentle current, drifting between the two islands. This scenic, ever-changing waterway offers spectacular views and a relaxing experience. Guests are welcome to use snorkel masks if they wish, and drone photography captures the incredible scenery. You can repeat the float as many times as you like, making it a highlight of the tour.
The Beautiful Water & Return
On the return journey, pause at “Windex Water,” where the clearest, bluest water of all Exuma beckons you to jump in and swim. The scenic boat ride between stops offers narration about the area’s natural beauty and history. After your adventures, enjoy a comfortable bus ride back to the port, with lasting memories of the stunning islands, turquoise waters, and tranquil sandbars.
