Excursion Scenic hardanger drive tour at Rosendal
Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Few locales on the planet are as majestic as Norway’s fjordlands, and this scenic Hardanger drive immerses you in the region’s crisp beauty.
Departing from Rosendal pier, settle into a comfortable seat for a panoramic coach journey, winding through lush valleys and along the crystal-clear waters of Maurangerfjord, the local arm of the vast Hardangerfjord. Soon, you’ll hear the rush of water cascading in the distance, then see the reason: the multiple white rivulets of Furebergsfossen, a branching waterfall that rushes down the mountainside, under the road, and into the fjord. Use the brief photo stop here to admire the stunning cascades, breathe in their refreshing mist, and soak up the tranquil beauty of the surroundings.
Journeying onward, the Sundal/Maurangerfjord area comes next and is the far point of the drive. Enjoy a short comfort stop and additional serene views in this spot where multiple trails lead out toward Bondhus Lake and its glacier. The return drive retraces the fjord-side route once again, but chances are you’ll notice different highlights this time as you scan the picturesque landscape. No two views of this stunning Nordic environment are quite the same. And all are enthralling.
