Excursion Sepilok orangutans & sun bears conservation tour at Sandakan

Discover two of Borneo’s most important conservation centers during this half-day journey into the ancient rainforest. Visit the Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre to observe the world’s smallest bear species before continuing to Sepilok’s orangutan platforms and indoor nursery for a close look at ongoing rehabilitation work. Explore the surrounding lowland forest, home to macaques, leaf monkeys, rich birdlife, and hundreds of plant species.

Please note: This tour involves moderate walking over uneven natural surfaces, steps, and wooden walkways that may become slippery when wet. Guests must wear comfortable closed-toe walking shoes and are advised to bring sun protection, insect repellent, and bottled water. Backpacks, food, drinks, and large bags are not allowed inside the sanctuaries; lockers are available at Sepilok. A maximum of one camera per guest is permitted and no professional/commercial lenses allowed. Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed, and tour operation is subject to weather conditions. It is not allowed to enter the centers with bottled water.
