Excursion Streymoy sill hike tour at Torshavn

Depart the pier by coach and travel along the Kaldbak fjord where you will enjoy the sight of cascading waterfalls and lazy sheep wandering about. Continue through the tunnel to Kollafjørður and further north through the valley and stop at the top of the columnar basalt of Streymoy sill. Here, start your walk and head up the mountain towards the sill. On the top you can admire the splendid scenery of the rock formation and a beautiful scenery of the island of Vágar. Pause by the small lakes before heading back down the mountain.


After the hike, return to Tórshavn via the mountain road and stop at the viewpoint overlooking the capital.

Please note: This tour involves an approximate 1.85 mile (2 kilometers) hike where the first 216 yards (200 metres) up a steep hill is strenuous; participants should be in good physical condition. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility. It is necessary to descend the same steep slope at the end of the hike. The ground is uneven and can be boggy and hiking boots and warm, waterproof clothing will be required. The operation of this tour is dependent upon favourable weather conditions.
