Historical Piran, Guided Tour

Depart the pier for a scenic, approximate one-hour drive through Slovenian Istria. En route, take in the stunning beauty of your surroundings and stop at the historic village of Piran. Following your guided walk and some free time in Piran, proceed to a picturesque forest in the Istrian countryside. Along the way, learn about the history of Slovenia and its designation as one of the few places on earth where truffles grow.

Truffle Hunt Demonstration

Your destination is in the forest, on the grounds of the hilltop estate of a majestic winery, with vineyards extending to both sides of the slopes, surrounded by olive trees. Upon arrival, meet the truffle-hunting dogs and their master, and observe a truffle hunt demonstration. Their strong connection is the key to a successful truffle hunt. The dogs usually have a very warm character, and sniff around a lot to find this precious delicacy.

Estate Lunch and Wine Tasting

Following the truffle hunt, proceed to the estate for a truffle lunch prepared by a private chef with the ingredients you helped find, accompanied by a selection of the estate's own wines. Think pasta with truffles, local cold cuts and cheese, roasted meats with vegetables, and a Slovenian take on apple strudel.

Conclude your visit with a short drive back to the pier.
