Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

Explore the splendid beauty, wildlife and winemaking traditions of Western Australia during this half-day excursion to Caversham Wildlife Park, with a visit to the Swan Valley.

Scenic Drive and Caversham Wildlife Park

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximate hour's drive through Perth's suburbs en route to Caversham Wildlife Park for a unique bush experience. During your visit, independently explore the park where you can observe some of Australia's unique native animals, hand-feed kangaroos and come face-to-face with koalas, wombats and emus.

Swan Valley, Lancaster Winery & Wine Tasting

Next, continue east toward Swan Valley's renowned wine-growing district. Swan Valley is Western Australia's oldest wine region, and highlighted by a rich fusion of wine, beer, food, historic estates, and scenic, natural beauty. As early as the late 1700s, winemaking began in Australia. European vines were imported and cultivated, but the climate in Australia was different enough than that of Europe to present a challenging undertaking. After some initial failures, the pioneering vintners finally began to produce what would become the first generation of fine, award-winning Australian wines. Upon arrival, proceed for a visit to the Lancaster Winery to sample some of the estate's vintages.

Afterward, re-board your coach for the drive back to the pier.
