Excursion A day at the place at tokeh beach tour at Freetown
Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Visit Tokeh, a coast resort town on the peninsula of the western rural area of Sierra Leone. While Tokeh was originally a fishing village, it in the past few years has grown rapidly in popularity as a tourist and resort destination, most notably at a five-star resort called The Place.
Departing from The Place resort, proceed to the fishing village of Tokeh to see all the local highlights and see what life here is like.
Return to the ship.
Note
Please note: Sierra Leone is a very-low-income country with very basic infrastructure, and vastly different to the western culture mentality. Local conditions may be challenging; therefore, we urge flexibility and understanding as we visit unique and somewhat remote destinations. Coaches, guides, equipment, and services are the best-available in the area, but may not be up to the standards of those found on other excursions. A moderate amount of walking over uneven surface, however, walking in Tokeh Beach/Village is at the discretion of each guest. Lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, sun protection and insect repellant is recommended. A swimsuit under a cover-up with beach or water shoes, sun protection and a towel from the ship is recommended. Anticipate high temperatures and humidity and we recommend staying hydrated by bringing your water bottle.
