Depart the pier in your awaiting 4x4 vehicle for an off-road discovery of Portugal’s southern interior. Begin with a scenic introduction and panoramic drive before veering off the paved routes into rugged backroads, riverbeds, and remote trails. Admire the dramatic landscape, learn about local flora, and enjoy a photo stop in the beautiful Serra de Monchique mountain range.

You will visit charming hillside villages where time appears to have stood still and pass by terraced hillsides and forested paths with breathtaking views that stretch down toward Portimão Bay. The drive will also take you to Fóia, one of the Algarve’s highest peaks, for unmatched vistas of the coastline and countryside.

Traditional Tastings

Continue your journey to a local distillery where you will learn about and taste traditional Algarve products such as Medronho (a potent local firewater made from the arbutus berry) and regional honey. These authentic flavors are rooted in generations of rural craftsmanship.

Please note: This tour involves a minimal amount of walking (approx. 100 meters / 330 feet) and 2–4 steps at various stops. However, it includes extensive off-road driving, making it unsuitable for guests with limited mobility, wheelchair, pregnant women, and those with neck, back, or joint issues. Not recommended for guests who suffer from motion sickness. The safari vehicles are not air-conditioned and may involve bumpy terrain. Comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes are essential. Sun protection, a light jacket, and a camera are strongly recommended. Guests must be at least six years old to participate.
