Depart the pier for your art studio experience in Valparaiso. The jumble of narrow streets winding their way through the city's unusual architecture, along with the colourful houses perched upon the 42 hills surrounding the bay, have inspired artists of all types for centuries. Hundreds of poets, painters, musicians, and sculptors were drawn to this curious city, and have made Valparaiso their home.

Three Private Home or Studio Visits, Art Displays, Artist Conversations

Your guided tour includes three, approximately 40-minute visits with different visual artists in their private homes and/or studios, each of which stands out for its location or structure, and reflects the personality and spirit of the artists. During your visits, the artists display their works of art and explain the different stages they have taken over the years. You can also engage in direct conversation with the artists and experience the 'Porteño' ambience that motivates their work; a rare opportunity to garner a unique insight into Valparaíso as seen through the eyes of its artists.

'Porteño' Restaurant, Cocktails, Appetizers, Bay Views

Following your visits with the artists, re-board your coach and proceed for cocktails and appetizers on the terrace of a good 'Porteño' restaurant with an enchanting view of the bay. At the conclusion of your tour, re-board your coach and commence the short drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking for approximately 437 yards (about 400 metres), at times over uneven and cobblestone surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and at the cocktail venue. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing in layers with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection, bottled water, and US Dollars, local currency, or credit cards for purchases from the ship. Guests must be at least 18 years old to be served alcoholic beverages. Flash photography/videography is prohibited inside the artists' houses/studios. The tour sequence may vary. Space on this tour is extremely limited; we suggest you book well in advance to avoid disappointment. If the artists don't speak English, the guide will provide a translation.
