Aoshima Shrine

Next, re-board your coach and travel approximately 45-minutes to Aoshima Island. From the parking area, walk across the bridge leading to the island and continue across sandy terrain toward Aoshima Shrine. Surrounded by distinctive rock formations shaped by centuries of wave action, the shrine sits within a lush subtropical grove. After time for exploration and photographs, return to the coach.

Japanese Lunch

Proceed to a local restaurant such as Aoshimaya for a traditional Japanese set-menu lunch. Seasonal dishes highlight regional flavours.

Obi Castle Town

Following lunch, enjoy the approximately one-hour drive to Obi Castle Town, often referred to as the “Little Kyoto” of Kyushu. During your guided walking tour (approximately of 90-minutes), stroll along cobblestone streets lined with preserved samurai residences and historic buildings. Visits may include Matsuo-no-Maru, the Yoshokan and the Obi Castle History Museum, offering insight into the feudal era and the lives of the local ruling clan.

At the conclusion of your visit, re-board your coach for the approximately 30-minute drive back to the pier.
