Scenic Drive to the Mangrove Forest

Depart the pier for an approximately 45-minute drive through Naze’s lush coastal surroundings en route to Kuroshio no Mori Mangrove Park. Along the way, take in views of subtropical vegetation, tranquil waterways and rural landscapes that showcase the island’s serene atmosphere and natural charm.

Mangrove Canoe Adventure

Upon arrival at the park, begin with a short orientation and safety briefing before boarding your canoe, typically shared by two guests. Accompanied by experienced local guides, set out along calm waterways that wind through dense mangrove forests where freshwater and saltwater ecosystems meet.

Enjoy approximately one hour of canoe paddling through natural tunnels formed by mangrove trees. As you navigate the waterways, your guide will introduce the delicate balance of this rare habitat. Learn about the unique plant species that thrive here and keep watch for wildlife such as mudskippers, crabs and a variety of birdlife that inhabit the area. The gentle pace of the canoe journey allows you to fully appreciate the peaceful surroundings and remarkable biodiversity of this protected environment.

Observation Deck Visit

Following your canoe experience, proceed to the park’s observation deck via several steps. From this elevated vantage point, enjoy sweeping panoramic views across the expansive mangrove forest as it extends toward the coastline. This stop offers excellent photo opportunities and a chance to appreciate the impressive scale of this natural landscape from above.

After your visit, re-board your coach and relax during the approximately 45-minute drive back to the pier.

Please Note: This tour involves an extensive amount of physical activity, including approximately one hour of canoe paddling and walking over mostly paved surfaces with several steps at the observation deck. Two guests share one canoe. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility or those who utilise a wheelchair. Lightweight, comfortable clothing and flat, closed-toe walking shoes are recommended. Sun protection is strongly advised. Canoeing equipment, including life jackets, raincoats, rain pants and sandals, is provided. Guests should bring local currency for personal purchases. Local guides may have strong accents, and flexibility is appreciated. The tour sequence may vary.
