Excursion Cruise the history of the endeavour river tour at Cooktown
Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Come aboard ‘Nautilus’ for a 1.5hr cruise on a river made famous by Captain Cook in 1770. We will explore the harbour and the maze way of small winding mangrove-lined creeks that run into the Endeavour. Listen to some stories about Cook's infamous passage along the Cape, about devastating cyclones, the glory days of pearling luggers, and the new Cooktown, the gateway to the frontier. Keep your eyes open for Crocodiles, Sea Eagles, and Jabiru all of which are sometimes found in the lower reaches of the Endeavour.
(No animal sightings are guaranteed)
