Green Hill Platform and People's Square
Depart the pier for the brief drive to Green Hill Platform for panoramic views over Dalian. After a photo stop here, re-board your coach and continue on to People's Square, where locals gather to practice genteel ballroom dancing and badminton. Stately, Colonial-era buildings line the perimeter of People's Square, which was the site of scenes from the movie, The Last Emperor.
Xinghai Square, Beida Bridge and Tiger Beach Park
Next, proceed for a visit to Xinghai Square, the largest public square in Dalian. Its large star shape and the roar of the nearby ocean inspired its name, which means 'Star Sea Square'. During your visit, learn how its design and construction represent a perfect combination of traditional and modern Chinese cultures. From here, drive along scenic Binghai Road and take in marvellous views of the Chinese coast. Afterward, a brief stop is made to photograph the Beida Bridge, followed by another brief stop at Tiger Beach Park, an acclaimed recreational area boasting enormous tiger sculptures and the largest birdcage in China.
Friendship Shopping Centre
Your tour concludes with a visit to the Friendship Shopping Centre to browse for souvenirs. Afterward, you may opt to re-board the coach and return directly to the ship, or remain in town for independent shopping and return to the pier via the ship's shuttle bus.
