Excursion Discover île quarry tour at Havre-Saint-Pierre
Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Take a special excursion on the open water to discover the natural wonders of île Quarry. Departing from the Havre-Saint-Pierre marina, board an open-deck boat and take a 30-minute ride to Quarry Island.
Walk the three miles along a loop trail guided by a Parks Canada heritage presenter. Explore this natural botanical garden as you walk past a wide variety of habitats: shoreline, boreal forest, peat bogs, barrens, and cliffs. This island is also home to a former sea cliff, now concealed within the boreal forest.
Walk to Anse des Érosions where monoliths, referred to as "flower pots" due to their appearance, resist the ravages of time and erosion. Walk the short trail to get back to your boat and enjoy the scenery as you cruise back along the archipelago to return to your ship.
Please note: This tour includes at least three miles of walking over uneven natural terrain and over 200 steps, making this tour not advisable for guests in wheelchairs or individuals with limited mobility.
