Excursion Duart castle tour at Mull

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

Standing proudly on a cliff top guarding the Sound of Mull, Duart Castle enjoys one of the most spectacular positions on the west coast of Scotland. Relive the past with a walk through the ancient keep, visit the dungeons where officers of Tobermory's Spanish Galleon were imprisoned and take a journey back through the ages in the exhibition of clan history, where many objects of historical interest are on display. In 1911 Sir Fitzroy Maclean repurchased and restored the castle, which is now occupied by Sir Lachlan Maclean, 28th chief of the clan Maclean.

Subject to availability, Sir Lachlan Maclean himself will offer welcome to his fabulous 400-year-old castle and home which is the clan seat. Explore the castle with a guide on hand to answer any questions.

Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee with Scottish shortbread or cake in the tearooms before rejoining the Zodiac back to the ship.
