Excursion Exclusive seal watching cruise tour at Melbourne

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

Perched on the southwestern side of the island is the jaw-dropping area known as Summerland Peninsula, a magnificent headland that marks the end of Phillip Island's western-most point and the beginning of the sea's never-ending blue horizon. One of the area's most endearing residents is the Australian fur seal, unlike other fur seals, the Australian is noted for its small ears, large eyes and sharp teeth. An agile swimmer with a streamlined shape and strong flippers, it can dive to depths of 650 feet.

Your adventure begins as you board the vessel at the pier and head out into the crystalline waters of Bass Strait, which separates Tasmania from the Australian mainland. Feel the ocean breeze surround you as your captain cruises by the picturesque coastline. Along the way your friendly captain and crew will share their knowledge of the history and ecology of the colony. Be sure to have your camera with you on this wonderful scenic adventure as this is truly a nature and photographers dream tour.
