Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 40-minute drive to Sabeto Mud pool Village, where the mountain range is shaped like a huge, sleeping giant. Sabeto Mud pool is indeed where giants of men once roamed; the chiefs and the people of Sabeto formerly-owned almost half of Vitilevu, indicating that they were strong warriors. Your arrival at Sabeto is greeted with a kava ceremony and entertainment by the villagers.

Mud Pool Experience

Next, head to the nearby mud pool and hot springs. If you have never been covered in mud from head-to-toe, it's an experience you won't soon forget. The Sabeto mud pool and hot springs are one of Fiji's hidden jewels, and offer a rare opportunity to indulge in a therapeutic, natural, thermal mud spa. The therapeutic mud pool of Sabeto is the ideal remedy for self-cleansing, or naturally beautifying yourself. Locals believe that the sulphur in the hot springs have healing properties. A popular spot for both visitors and locals, the mud pool also offers a great social experience.

Natural Hot Springs

After absorbing the soothing and healing properties of the mud, wash it off in the natural hot springs or fresh water shower., then dry off and change into dry clothing. At the conclusion, if time allows, check out the local handicrafts for sale before re-board your coach and commence the approximately 30-minute drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking for approximately 547 yards (about 500 metres), at times over uneven, slippery and muddy surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the vehicle. This tour includes some off-road driving over bumpy and uneven natural surfaces and inclines and is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Tour is not recommended for anyone suffering with high or low blood pressure, heart problems, varicose veins, mobility issues or if you are pregnant. Please wear comfortable flat-soled shoes, clothing suited to the weather conditions, bring a hat, plenty of bio-degradable sunscreen and fill your water bottle before leaving the ship. Guests are advised to wear a swimsuit under a cover-up with beach or water shoes, and bring sun protection, insect repellent, a towel, change of clothing, and credit cards or local currency for purchases from the ship. This facilities are rustic. Limited tourism development is part of the charm and authentic experience.  Due to the sulfur in the springs, swimsuits may be damaged or discolored. Shoes which you don’t mind getting muddy are recommended. Enjoy some refreshment provided on site with Fiji water and seasonal fruits or let the ladies offer massages to complete the rejuvenating process after a mud bath.
