Bois Cheri Tea Plantation

Proceed to the village of Bois Cheri to enjoy a taste of Mauritian Heritage. The village hosts the oldest tea plantation on the island which dates back to 1892, and today is the largest producer of tea on the island. The plantation covers 250 hectares. This working tea factory turns 40 tonnes of tea leaves into ten tonnes of tea per day. There is also a museum which charts the history of tea and has exhibits of various machinery which became obsolete over the 115 years that the factory has been in production. Various flavors of tea are produced such as vanilla, coconut and mint flavors. Drive along tea fields to reach the Tea Factory and discover the secrets of tea production before proceeding to the chalet for a traditional tea break.

Avalon Golf Estate and Lunch

Not far from the tea factory is the Avalon Golf Estate, situated in the most idyllic surroundings in the heart of a natural reserve within the most undiscovered and authentic part of the island. Engage in a golf initiation before enjoying a delicious lunch at the Magic Spoon Restaurant boasting a splendid, vibrant décor with spectacular views of the luxuriant golf course and the majestic surrounding mountains with a panoramic view of the golf course and a vista of the southern coastline of Mauritius.

Please note: This tour involves a minimal to moderate amount of walking and standing, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. This golfing excursion includes 9 hole golf round green fees, golf cart, club rental, private transfers between the pier and the course, the use of clubhouse facilities and 3 course menu lunch at the restaurant located at the club house.
