Depart the pier for the brief transfer to the heliport on Douglas Island. After receiving your safety briefing and equipment, your helicopter lifts off and soars above towering mountaintops.

Your flightseeing tour en route to the Glacier Dog Sled Camp will take you over the massive Juneau Icefield, before touching down at our dog camp on the Norris Glacier.

Dog-Sled Camp

A true Alaskan adventure! Witness the wonders of Juneau's Norris Glacier through the eyes of an Iditarod musher. On this once-in-a-lifetime excursion, experience the thrill of mushing with a professional sled team of Alaskan sled dogs across the snow-capped Juneau Icefield. Following your visit, re-board your helicopter for the return flight to Juneau. Upon arrival at the heliport, your tour concludes with a transfer back to the pier.

Please note: this tour requires a moderate amount of walking over uneven, snowy terrain. Guests must be able to climb in and out of the helicopter via steps. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility or those who utilize a wheelchair. Sleds carry 4 passengers, and each passenger will have a chance to stand on the back of the sled and mush. Operation of this tour is weather dependent and it may be cancelled on short notice. The total flight time is approximately 30 minutes, with approximately 1 hour spent on the glacier. These times will vary depending on weather and glacial conditions. Due to weight and balance limitations, as well as guest safety and comfort, guests weighing 250 pounds (113 kilograms) or more will be charged an additional $150 to reserve adequate space on board the helicopter.  Seating is at the discretion of the pilot. For security purposes, no bags and tablets are allowed on the flight; they may be left at a storage area at the heliport. Dress warmly in layers and bring a hat, gloves, and sunglasses; glacier boots are provided. Guests must sign a waiver to participate. Space on this tour is extremely limited; we suggest you book well in advance to avoid disappointment. Dog camps must leave the glaciers by the end of August; this tour is not available in September.  Due to the limited capacity and high demand for this tour, it is non-refundable unless cancelled by 12:00 p.m. on the day after embarkation.
