Excursion Hike the rim of sete cidades tour at Ponta Delgada

Discover the stunning natural beauty of São Miguel on this challenging trek through some of the most remarkable scenery in the archipelago. Following a brief transfer from Ponta Delgada, you will climb the outer rim of the Sete Cidades crater to reach Lomba do Vasco, the beginning of your hike. Take in expansive views of the island’s southern coast towards the Ginetes lighthouse before proceeding along a serene ridge-top road to the island’s most famous viewpoint, Vista do Rei—where King Carlos of Portugal and his wife once took in the awe-inspiring landscape in 1901. Continue your descent through tranquil woodlands to the charming village of Sete Cidades, where you can unwind with a drink before heading back to your ship.

Please note: This tour is recommended for guests in good physical condition. A moderate amount of walking and standing for approximately 2.5h and 4.8 km (3 miles). At times over uneven, bumpy surfaces (and inclines), with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach. Lightweight, comfortable clothing, flat, closed-toe walking shoes or hiking boots and sun protection are recommended. The tour sequence may vary.
