Excursion Hiroshima peace memorial park tour at Hiroshima

Make a solemn visit to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park in central Hiroshima, Ground Zero for the Atomic Bomb on August 6, 1945. Included on this excursion is a visit to the Peace Memorial Museum, which is housed within the Peace Memorial Park and is considered its main attraction.
Departing the pier, drive 30 minutes to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park in central Hiroshima. The area where the park now lies was ground zero for the Atomic Bomb on 6th August 1945. After the bombing, the Memorial Park was created and dedicated to those who lost their lives in the attack. Stroll through the park and discover many memorials, monuments and statues, before heading into the Museum itself.
Then walk to the Peace Memorial Museum within the park. Consisting of two buildings, the museum surveys the difficult history of Hiroshima and the advent of the nuclear bomb. Its main focus though is on the events of August 6; the dropping of the bomb and its outcome of human suffering. After the visit to the museum, drive back to the pier.

Please note: There is about 30 to 40 minutes of walking at the Peace Park during a guided tour, covering the distance of about 600 meters; however this walk is optional and a shorter alternative walk is available. This surface is flat, covered and easy to walk. Wear walking shoes and bring a rain jacket. Please do not use flash photography at the Peace Memorial Museum.
